The Africa Centre of Excellence on Technology Enhanced Learning (ACETEL) in Collaboration with Digital Footprints Limited, is set to run a short course programme on Digital Forensic and Incident Response Course, next week, from Monday I9 to Friday 23 June 2023, at the university headquarters, Abuja.
The Director, ACETEL, Prof. Grace Jokthan, in a brief chat at her office, said the five (5) day training programme will begin with an opening ceremony on Monday and expects to have Deans and Directors in the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) in attendance.
The training programme is designed to provide comprehensive insights and equip participants with the essential knowledge, skills, and tools required to effectively identify, investigate, and respond to digital incidents.
The course is also geared towards training participants in digital response and forensics and incident response, creating knowledge partnerships among participants to help facilitate beneficial exchange between practitioners, decision makers, prospective partners and solution providers.
Renowned experts and practitioners in the field will lead engaging sessions and discussions that will focus on key topics, such as: Computer Forensic Fundamentals, Understanding Digital Forensics and Cybersecurity, Scope and Processes of Digital Forensics, Evidence Handling Procedures, Acquisition and Analysis Tools, Acquisition and Preservation of Digital Evidence, Network Forensic Fundamentals, Mobile Forensic Fundamentals, Forensic report writing and Documentation and presentation.
With the continuous increase in cybercrime cases and computer related incidents, with the need to build Nigeria’s digital forensic readiness and capability, to avoid loss in billions of dollars, it is imperative, to gain knowledge in the field of Digital Forensics and Cybersecurity in order to be able to undertake tasks involving cybercrime investigation.
