e-facillitation: ACETEL conducts orientation for facilitators and students
An online orientation session for both facilitators and students of the Africa Centre of Excellence on Technology Enhanced Learning (ACETEL) was organized by ACETEL to familiarize and bring up to speed knowledge of facilitators and students of the centre on the e-learning portal of the university.
In a welcome remark, ACETEL centre director Prof. Grace Jokthan said the programme is an important routine considering the commencement of a new academic session at the centre.
“This exercise is considered necessary in order to familiarize both the facilitators and students of the centre with the e-learning portal of the university, and how they can navigate themselves using the virtual learning environment during facilitation and assessments exercise” according to the centre director.
Jokthan therefore enjoyed participants to pay kind attention on what will be taught in the course of the orientation programme as well as charged participants to ask questions or raise observations on issues not clear to them, as this will enable the centre serve the students better.
The programme was organized jointly by ACETEL and the directorate of learning content management system (DLCMS) of the university with Dr. Adewale Adeshina, director DLCMS who took the participants on “ACETEL elearning environment” while ACETEL deputy centre director, Dr. Vivian Nwoacha presented an “Overview of Assessments in ACETEL”.
