As a follow up to its last business meeting held at Glo Headquarters in Lagos, Africa Centre of Excellence on Technology Enhanced Learning (ACETEL) played host to Glo mobile telecommunications company at the corporate headquarters of ACETEL in Abuja.
The meeting which was a technical session according to Mr Akinwunmi Olayiwola Glo zonal head (North) was an avenue for the Telecom company to present to ACETEL some of its products that may assist ACETEL in the discharge of it’s assignment.
The products on displayed was bandwidth, a customized learning solutions and digital educational packages that would enable ACETEL dispense it’s mandate effortlessly among others.
Earlier, the Centre Director ACETEL Prof Grace Jokthan set the stage for the engagement saying the desire to seek partnership with Glo was informed by the need to access digital data solutions, customized software, internet and data plan for academic institution that would be affordable and uninterrupted for students.
While commenting, Dr. Adewale Adeshina thank Glo for proposing an excellent business plan, specifically Glo bandwidth plan that allows ACETEL to manage the flow and distribution of data that would be supplied. The technical session attracted a number of questions bothering applications, workerbility, affordability, security and effectiveness in addition to the peculiarity of NOUN as an open and distance learning.
The technical session which was held at the University Headquarters has Prof Grace Jokthan as Chairperson. Others are Dr. Adewale Adeshina, Dr. Vivian Nwoacha, representatives of MIS, ICT and other ACETEL staff.
